MyTV is the Internet protocol television service (IPTV) introduced by the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on September 28.

To use this service, users need to have broadband connection, a TV and a set top box to decode signals. This is a pay-TV service and users will have to pay monthly charge. However, MyTV will provide them with not only TV channels but also many interactive services. IPTV service is considered one of the most modern communication services in the world today.
VNPT’s general director Bui Thien Minh said that besides 32 local and international TV channels, MyTV also offers HD movies, music, karaoke functions and also the functions of a computer, telephone and TV. Users can use the TV with MyTV service to access to the Internet, make video calls as well as buying and paying online.
The price for a set top box is around 1 million dong. VNPT will present 5000 free set top boxes for the first clients, plus free installation fee and three months of broadband Internet charges.
There are four charge packages for MyTV, including 35000, 50000, 110,000 and 125,000 dong per month, depending on the contents and services provided.
VNPT said that MyTV is available for all clients who use Internet service of Viettel, FPT or EVN. However, the charge will be much higher than those who use Internet service provided by VNPT.
