As of April 20, the mobile service market witnessed a historical promotional program offered by VNPT: free calls for 12 months between VNPT mobile and fixed subscribers.

Under this program, all new post-paid subscribers of MobiFone and VinaPhone, the two mobile networks run by VNPT, who join from April 20-May 20, 2010 will be allowed to make free calls to subscribers of MobiFone and VinaPhone and fixed subscribers of VNPT for 12 months from the day of registration.
Only the first ten minutes of calls are actually free. From the 11th minute, charges will be calculated based on current charge policies. In addition, subscribers must commit to using the service for at least 12 months, at monthly charges of at least 60,000 dong, plus a monthly subscription fee.
Experts admit that this program will greatly benefit customers and that this is the largest promotional campaign in the telecom market so far.
This is the first time MobiFone and VinaPhone have join forces in one promotional program.
