Viettel and VinaPhone has cut off services to over 50,000 subscribers who don’t register their numbers. However, they can register and get back their numbers within 30 days, as of February 1.

MobiFone is the only mobile network that has completed this task. It said that during the one month extension for information registration, its branches and agents served nearly one million clients.
Meanwhile, Viettel’s representative said that as of February 1, it has stopped providing services to 50,000 subscribers that haven’t registered numbers. Within 30 days, these clients can go to Viettel’s agents and offices to register, otherwise they will lose their numbers forever.
VinaPhone disclosed it has around 2,000 subscribers who own over three sim cards each don’t register yet and this operator also stopped services to these numbers.
Vietnam currently has 130.7 million phone users, including more than 100 million mobile users, using seven networks: Viettel, MobiFone, VinaPhone, S-Fone, EVN Telecom, Vietnamobile and GTel. Indochina Telecom have received the licence to become the 8th mobile service provider in Vietnam in the form of the full mobile virtual network operator.
