University students are returning to home villages
A lot of universities and junior colleges have announced Tet holiday schedules. The three week holiday will begin on February 8, 2010. However, many students have decided to allow themselves to stay off from studying right now, one week in advance

Hung, a third year student of the HCM City University of Agriculture and Forestry, said that most of students in his class have left for their home villages for the Tet holiday. The curriculum for the first semester finished in late January. Only those, who need retake exams, have to stay, while others all have left

Minh, a second year student of the Information Technology Faculty, said that in principle, the holiday only begins on February 7, but he wants to return home sooner and he will study there instead,

One of the reasons that prompted students to return home soon is that they may not get railway tickets if they return home at a later date. Meanwhile, the Mien Dong Buss Station said that the ticket price will increase from February 4, or the 21st day of December of the Lunar Year.

Ha, a second year student of the Urban Studies Faculty under the HCM City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, said that only two thirds of students from her class are still attending lessons.  Huong, a student of the Economics faculty, said one third of her classmates have returned home already.

While university students are taking time to relax, general school students are worried about exams.

Nhi, a 10th grade student of Marie Curie School, said that she is learning hard to prepare for the month-end test. “Pre-Tet days are the time for tests. Two or three weeks after Tet we will see tests again. Therefore, I will have to study during Tet holiday to prepare for the exams,” she said.

Ngoc, a 12th grade student of Dien Hong High School, said that her timetable is so heavy. “All 12th grade students have no time to relax. I will have only three days off on Tet,” she said.

T. Cuong, a 12th grade student, seems to more anxious when he plans to have only one day off only.

Khanh, also a 12th grade student, hopes that his teachers will not give many home exercises, because he has too many exercises to do already.
