VnnNews – The organizers of the Japan Super Series badminton tournament has selected seeds and cast lots for competition brackets, with Nguyen Tien Minh chosen as the eighth seed for the event.

The tournament will take place in Tokyo from September 22-27, attracting 170 players, including the world’s top ten, to compete for prizes worth US$200,000 in total.

Tien Minh will be in the same bracket as the world’s No 2 seed, Chen Jin. If he defeats Denmark’s Thomsen, he will likely meet the host country’s player Sho Sasaki (24th in the world rankings) in the second round.

Experts predict Sho Sasaki will cause a lot of difficulties for Tien Minh. However, if Minh can overcome this rival, he will enter the semi-final to meet Chen Jin.

Tien Minh is currently training intensively in Ho Chi Minh City in preparation for the Vietnamese individual championship to be held on September 12 in Thai Binh province.
