The three selected players are Le Van Chung and Cao Thanh Hoe, both 15 from Da Nang and Nguyen Viet Thang, 14, from Long An.
“Football Dream Vietnam 2010” took place from May to August in 30 provinces and cities, drawing nearly 25,000 boys.
The three winners were chosen from 50 players in the national final round in HCM City. They will go to Qatar for one month to take part in the world finale with rivals from 15 countries like Senegal, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, Tanzania, Nigeria, Paraguay, Guatemala, Thailand, etc. The winners will get three-year scholarships at Qatar’s Aspire Football Institute, the world’s leading young football training centre in the world.
The jury of “Football Dream Vietnam 2010” includes coaches of Barcelona young team, who have discovered world football stars like Lionel Messi, Giovani Dos Santos and Bojan Krkic.
This is the third time this program has been held in Vietnam. Last year Nguyen Thai Sung, 16, from Da Nang won a scholarship to study in Qatar.
Josep Colomer, executive manager of Football Dream Vietnam 2010 program, Thai Sung has studied very well in Qatar. “We hope that this year all three Vietnamese players will be chosen because they have proved very talented after surpassing thousands of contestants,” Comomer noted.
