VnnNews – The Volleyball Federation of Vietnam announced that the 2010 PV Oil National Volleyball Championships will open on March 14.

Top volleyball players tie the knot

24 teams will be divided into two groups and competing in a round robin format for two legs.

 

In the first leg, the teams in Group A will play in the central Dak Lak province from March 14-23 while teams in Group B play in the central Gia Lai province from March 14-21.

There will also be prizes for the best players and best group of referees.

The annual Championships offers national players an excellent chance to gain valuable experience when competing with strong recruited foreign players from China and Thailand and good practice for the national women’s team who are running to participate in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The two best teams from Group A and B will complete for the Duc Long Gia Lai Cup from March 25-28. The winners will receive a cash prize of VND50 million, the runners-up VND30 million and the second runners-up VND5million.

The four best teams from the two groups will play for the Hung Vuong Cup in the northern Phu Tho province from April 17-22.  The champions will get VND60 million, the runners up VND20 million and the second runners-up VND10 million.

The second leg will be held in the northern provinces of Ninh Binh and Hai Duong from October 5-12.

The final rounds will be organised from October 16-19 at a venue to be announced.

The winners of both the men’s and women’s team will each receive a Cup and cash prize of VND100 million, the runners up VND70 million and the second runners-up VND30 million respectively.
