Let’s all go to the movies – on March 15, 2010

VnnNews – The Vietnam Cinema Association has allocated 1.5 billion dong  to organise activities to celebrate the first Vietnam Movie Day on March 15, 2010.

Its chairman Tran Luan Kim said the date was the anniversary of the day President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree to set up the Vietnamese movies sector.

 

Kim said the association had worked out a detail plan to celebrate the day in many cities in Vietnam, including a film festival in Hanoi or HCM City, free film shows in Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho and Nha Trang.

 

In addition, in the run up to the day from the March 12 there will be shows of theme songs in movies, exhibitions of photos about actors and movies, seminars and exchanges with colleagues from Russia, South Korea and China.

 

The Vietnam Cinema Association will have a website to organise writing contests about movies.

 

The key part of the Vietnam Movies Day will be the Golden Kite Award Ceremony in Hanoi on March 14, 2010, which will be aired live on VTV.

 

Kim believes that with a day for cinema, Vietnam movie industry will further develop.
