For the father, Pham Van Hang, the exhibition commemorates his first personal exhibition 36 years ago, which was held at the headquarters of the French cultural association in Saigon. At that time he exhibited dozens of oil paintings with the theme “Oriental Legend.” Now he will introduce thirteen sculptural works, including stone statues and bronze relief portraits of famous scholars and artists and also a poetry work carved on copper pieces of 50×75cm.

His son, Pham Tran Viet Nam, graduated from the HCM City Art University’s Sculpture Faculty. The 24 year old will introduce six of his oil paintings that are almost 2 meters long.

Some of Nam’s paintings have been selected for overseas exhibitions and one of his pieces, “Negotiation,” now belongs to a famous foreign collector.

The exhibition will last until the last day of 2009 at 1 Trang Tien Street, Hanoi.
