VnnNews – FPT Software has started to implement a US$2 million software outsourcing contract for a Japanese partner.

The project, named Nina, aims to develop core retail and e-commerce software for Nissen. This is the largest software outsourcing project the Japanese market has ordered in Vietnam.
This project will be carried out from now to June 2010 with Japan’s Nihon Unisys as the general contractor, FPT Software as the major contractor and some sub-contractors from Vietnam.
FPT Software overcame many rivals in Japan and Vietnam to become the major contractor in this project.
Nissen is a leading firm in Japan for selling goods via catalogue. If FPT Software is successful in this project, the firm and other software companies in Vietnam may have many opportunities to win big contracts with Japanese firms.
Japan is now a major market for software outsourcing in the world. Vietnam is the third-largest partner of Japanese IT firms, after China and India.
