The 3.8-km road with six lanes and granite tile-paved sidewalks is worth over VND852 billion, of which VND721 billion has been allocated for compensation for affected families.

The construction of the project, including the undergrounding of telecom and electric cables, has caused serious traffic congestion since it started in late June 2006.

Work on the Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street has been completed, while the installation of pavements on Nguyen Van Troi Street is scheduled for completion at the end of April.

The foot-dragging upgrade of the road is expected to end the traffic jamming nightmare for road users.
