VnnNews - China’s Huawei Group will provide equipment and solutions to EVN Telecom to build its 3G network under a contract signed in Hanoi on November 18.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, EVN Telecom Director Pham Duong Minh said before EVN Telecom launches 3G services on April 30, 2010, the company will set up its network infrastructure with 2,500 base transceiver stations (BTS) covering 46 percent of the population in the first phase of the project.

EVN Telecom received a licence from the Ministry of Information and Communications to provide 3G services in April this year.

Under its commitment, EVNTelecom will officially provide 3G services for its subscribers nine months after the licence took effect.
