Discovering Cham culture through books, brocade and pottery

VietNamNet Bridge – “Space for Cham culture” is an exhibition of pottery, brocade and books which opened at Trung Nguyen Café, 36 Dien Bien Phu, Hanoi on May 28.

 

 

The exhibition boasts the presence of brocade artisan, Thuan Thi Tru, Cham researcher, Inrasara Phu Tram and painter, Le Thiet Cuong.

 

Artisan Thuan Thi Tru has been honored as “Vietnam’s Golden Hands in Brocade” and has collected more than 30 Cham patterns believed to be lost. She has created around 50 other patterns based on these original designs.

 

Many ancient books of the Cham people and others on Cham culture written by Inrasara Phu Tram, Ngo Van Doanh, Le Xuan Diem and Vu Kim Loc are also exhibited. Famous Cham pottery will also be displayed at the exhibition, which will remain open until June 11.
