Hoang Anh, Nguyen Tuan, Trinh Tuan, Vu Thang, Tran Duc Sy and Luong Van Viet are Hanoi-based artists and Tran Chau, Huynh Phu Ha, Nguyen Huy Khoi and Phan Dinh Phuc HCMC-based artists.
“Each artist has their own style and movements, from realism to abstract and semi-abstract, but they have the same compassion for arts, so this will be a chance for artistic exchange between the two regions with different cultural features,” said Huynh Van Muoi, chairman of the HCMC Fine Arts Association, at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
With colorful, active images of shoes, cartoon characters, flowers and trees, Huynh Phu Ha’s paintings, such as Innocent and Sweet, leave viewers feeling happy and innocent. “I do not want to express issues, even social crimes, such as my works on pollution. I want to give viewers a gentle emotion in my paintings,” said Ha.
Sculptor and first time exhibitor Luong Van Viet is displaying four works in iron. “The works were inspired by human beings, of which Stab presents the torment of social issues on humans and Eyes presents diverse views, with colors and feelings via human eyes, on life’s multi-faces,” said Viet.
The exhibition runs till November 17.
